Chin and Jaw Shaping
This comprehensive 4-hour educational activity includes both didactic and hands-on training for clinicians interested in offering chin and jawline injection procedures using HA dermal filler and cosmetic neurotoxin products to appropriate patients. The Chin & Jawline Shaping course is a more advanced course for injectors who want to increase their skills to include safe, effective facial contouring.
Learners will acquire in-depth knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lower face, as well as deepen their knowledge of the aging process. Upon completion of this course, participants are able to identify anatomical landmarks for the safe injection of dermal fillers, learn techniques to optimize safety for lower face injections with dermal fillers, manage adverse events, and practice basic techniques with a variety of HA fillers.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for licensed aesthetic professionals who have taken the Introduction to Dermal Filler class and have beginner to intermediate experience in facial injectables and are seeking enhanced knowledge of safe technique for chin and/or jawline augmentation using hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers.
Learning Objectives
• Identify patient characteristics that support or contraindicate use of HA dermal fillers.
• Describe the anatomy and physiology of the chin and jawline.
• Discuss how genetics and aging affect the anatomy and physiology of the chin and jawline.
• Identify chin and jawline areas for which sculpting with dermal fillers is appropriate.
• Identify which HA dermal fillers are appropriate and indicated for chin and jawline shaping.
• List the proper dosing regimens for chin and jawline shaping with appropriate HA dermal fillers and neurotoxins.
• List the proper injection techniques for chin and jawline shaping with appropriate HA dermal fillers and neurotoxins.
• Distinguish between normal side effects and complications.
• Explain how to manage adverse events associated with chin and jawline procedures.
