TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed to provide Laws and Rules continuing education for Florida Nurses and Nurse Practitioners. It fulfills the continuing education requirement for those licensed in the state of Florida.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the educational activity, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe the primary purpose of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Identify specific Florida laws and rules related to the practice of nursing.
  • Differentiate between ethical and legal considerations in nursing.
  • Compare each level of nursing practice in the state of Florida and the general scope of practice of each.
  • Review general requirements for nursing licensure within the state of Florida.
  • Outline the process for discipline related to nursing practice in the state of Florida.
  • Review best practice guidelines to protect licensure in nursing within the state of Florida.

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION

In order to receive credit, participants should read the entire monograph, complete and submit an evaluation and score at least 70% on the self-assessment test.
