Activity Overview:
This advanced-level course is designed for healthcare and rehab professionals who have a foundational understanding of the Bowen Technique and wish to expand their clinical skills and therapeutic impact. Under the expert instruction of John Wilks, an internationally respected Bowen teacher and author, participants will explore advanced applications of Bowen work for a range of complex conditions.
The course builds upon foundational knowledge by introducing nuanced variations in technique, assessment, and treatment planning. You’ll learn how to apply Bowen in cases involving
long-standing dysfunctions, fascial restrictions, and nervous system dysregulation, with a special focus on integrating trauma-sensitive approaches.
Emphasis is placed on reading the body, adapting protocols, and recognizing how subtle changes in touch, timing, and sequencing can yield significant outcomes. Therapists will also explore how Bowen interventions support regulation of the autonomic nervous system and may be used safely in clients with heightened sensitivity or comorbidities.
