Anthony Gaspari, Board Certified in Dermatogy
Anthony A. Gaspari, MD is currently a Clinical Professor, Dermatology of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology, Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. His dermatology practice is comprised of medical dermatology and patch testing.
Prior to this, he was the Shapiro Professor of Dermatology and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at University of Maryland Baltimore, in Baltimore, MD. 2005-2015. During this time also was the recipient of numerous federal research grants to support his basic science research in skin immunology and allergy.
He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Investigative Dermatology and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He is a reviewer for a number of journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and the Journal of Immunology. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the journal Dermatitis, a specialty journal focused on skin allergies, eczema and reactions to the environment. He has lectured both nationally and internationally over his career.
Dr. Gaspari is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed publications. Including 25 book chapters, and has recently (2012) edited the second edition of a Textbook entitled: “Clinical and Basic Immunodermatology.” He has gained the world’s attention in 2007 and 2008 for his role as a consultant Dermatologist volunteering his efforts in Indonesia, and assisting a team of Doctors attempting to diagnose and treat the “Treeman” of Indonesia (Dede Kosawa).
