Renowned for his pivotal role in shaping U.S. sunscreen policy, he has guided complex FDA OTC submissions and consistently championed science‑led regulatory frameworks that unlock safer, more effective UV filters and usher in the next generation of skincare innovation.
In his current role with dsm‑firmenich—and previously as Chair of the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) Sunscreen Consortium—Carl has been instrumental in elevating sun‑safety advocacy across Congress, federal agencies, and leading medical societies.
