The world of Joint Providership is complex… Are you confused about your role as a Joint Provider in the continuing education (CE) accreditation process? When you partner with AKH, the complex is simplified as our experienced team guides you through the CE accreditation process and brings value to your accredited CE.
Why partner with AKH in Joint Providership for accredited CE?
Who can serve as a Joint Provider?
AKH works with many accredited and non-accredited organizations to design, market and offer quality accredited CE. We are only permitted to work with companies whose primary business does not include “producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.1” The AKH team will determine your eligibility to serve as a Joint Provider.
What is my role as a Joint Provider?
AKH’s joint providership process is collaborative: you will participate (to the degree you wish) in accredited CE planning, implementation, and evaluation while we assure that all accreditation standards are met.
What accredited CE options do you offer Joint Providers?
AKH is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center, to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. This includes physicians, pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, psychologists, optometrists, social workers, athletic trainers, and dietitians. We also have the American Association of Nurse Practitioners accreditation for nurse practitioners and numerous state board approvals. Interested in targeting case managers, nurse anesthetists, midwives, or long-term care administrators? We can seek to obtain approvals for these audiences as well.
Are there content considerations I need to be aware of as a Joint Provider?
Yes. Accredited continuing education must:
- Meet the needs of learners and bridge the performance gaps of the audiences it serves;
- Be evidence-based and reflective of current practice;
- Provide a balanced discussion of the products and disease management issues;
- Meaningfully and fairly present treatment options; and
- Be free of commercial bias and promotion.
AKH professionals work closely with Joint Providers to ensure that the accredited CE meets the needs of the target audience, achieves the stated objectives, and complies with accreditation requirements.
Do you help Joint Providers measure and publicize educational outcomes?
Yes. Our educational, clinical, and statistical experts work with you to maximize the impact of accredited CE by developing statistically measurable objectives, identifying practice change opportunities, implementing strategies to overcome barriers to change, and publicizing your success.
Can you assist Joint Providers with securing grant funding?
AKH can help you with your grant requests by finding the right grant opportunities, providing proposal feedback, assisting with proposal development and submission, and providing updates about industry trends and RFPs.
Is the CE accreditation process difficult?
No! AKH strives to make the CE accreditation process as simple, smooth and streamlined as possible. We can work with your processes to add ancillary certifications to your programs without adding layers of bureaucracy or duplicity.
