Dr. Mao has long been engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and research in optometry, focusing on refractive correction and visual quality, as well as the experimental mechanisms of myopia. He has conducted in-depth research on the visual quality of contact lenses and intervention methods for myopia progression. He has been the principal investigator for two National Natural Science Foundation projects and two Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, contributed to a second prize in the National Teaching Achievement Award, and participated in a first prize in Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress
