Dr. Caroline Guerrero Cauchi graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry and has been in private practice since 1982  in a suburb of San Diego.  The practice concentrates on specialty lenses including orthokeratology, myopia control, scleral lenses and topographically-designed RGPs.

In 2006 she attained her fellowship in the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC).  In 2008 she was invited to join the Board of Directors for the IAOMC as well as the American Academy (AAOMC).  Currently, she sits on the IAOMC Board of Directors serving as secretary/treasurer  and is the Chair of Accreditation.  She also sits on the AAOMC Education committee and was responsible for developing the very popular “Bootcamp for Newcomers” program.  She lectures nationally and internationally on all topics of myopia control.

Dr. Guerrero Cauchi also spends time serving  as a mentor and role model for young women of all ages – particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds.  Many have gone on to become optometrists or other health professionals.

In her spare time she enjoys working on her property located in the mountains outside of San Diego, playing with her rescue German Shepherd Chubacca, working out/ staying fit and traveling to unusual eco-locations.
